“I spotted this and it immediately intrigued me, but I was even more drawn in when I got home and realised there’s barely anything about it online as it’s now out of print…which honestly just made it feel even more mysterious.

It’s got real folk and supernatural horror vibes running through it, with a mystery element layered in as well.”

Synopsis

A quiet village holds a centuries-old secret, which writer Will Barton discovers when he takes himself away on a month-long retreat to cure his writer's block. The villagers tell him that according to local legend the spectre of The Cross Woman appears just before a tragic event. He finds it hard to believe, but it gives him an idea for a story. However, after a sighting two weeks into his stay, he and the rest of the villagers mysteriously disappear, and it's up to his sister and local police to discover the strange truth about their vanishing.
